R Jayesh Kumar & Co is tucked away at B-86 Nagdevi Street. If you’ve ever been down Nagdevi Street, you know exactly what it’s like. It’s crowded, narrow, and always smells a bit like metal and old buildings. Our place is just one of many along this stretch, and if you aren’t looking closely at the numbers, you might walk right past B-86. It’s a busy part of the city where everyone is always in a hurry to move boxes or load up trucks. We have been here for a good while, and the walls show it. They could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to actually get it done. The space is filled with things we need for the day, and it’s a bit cramped, but it works for us. You hear the carts rattling on the stones outside all day long. Sometimes it gets so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard. We don’t bother with fancy decorations because they would just get dusty anyway in this part of town. We just open up the shutters in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. People know where to find us if they need us, right there on the street amongst all the other trade shops. It’s just how Nagdevi Street is.
