R & C Metal Works

R & C Metal Works is located in the Bajson Industrial Estate, unit 311, over in the Fort area. It is an interesting place to work because you have the old charm of Fort combined with the gritty feel of an industrial estate. Our unit is not very large, but we manage to fit in the machinery we need to get the job done. Most of our day is spent working with different types of metal, cutting or shaping them according to what has been requested. It gets quite loud when the machines are running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. We have some heavy workbenches that have been around since we opened. The floor is concrete and usually has a bit of metal shavings scattered around. We try to keep things as clean as we can, but it is the nature of the work. Our neighbors in the estate are also doing similar things, so there is a sense of community among the workers here. We usually take our lunch breaks together outside when the weather is decent. People come to us because they know we are right here in the estate and have been doing this for a while. We do not make a big deal out of things; we just take the orders, do the work, and make sure the pieces are ready when they should be. It is just honest work in a busy part of town where we stay focused.
