Puloma Dalal (Chartered Accountants)

Puloma Dalal has been operating out of Sukhanand Chawl for quite some time now. We are up on the third floor in Room 46. If you know C.P. Tank, you know how busy it gets around here. It is just a small office where we handle tax papers and audit work for people in the neighborhood. We don't have a big lobby or fancy furniture. Most days it is just us surrounded by files and ledgers that keep piling up. People stop by when they have a problem with their accounts or when tax season starts getting close. It can be a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially in the humid months, but we have been in this spot for years and everyone around here knows where to find us. We mostly deal with the local shopkeepers and small businesses nearby who need their numbers sorted out. It isn't anything glamorous. Just the usual back-and-forth with tax forms and making sure the entries are right before the deadlines hit. Sometimes the tea stall downstairs brings up a few cups while we are stuck in the middle of a long audit. We just try to get the work done without making a fuss. If the lights are on, we are likely inside checking something or filing a return. It is a quiet place to work despite the noise from the street below. We keep things straightforward because that's just the easiest way to handle the workload here in Mumbai.
