Prithvi Steel is right on the ground floor at number sixty-six on C.P. Tank Road. If you know Mumbai, you know C.P. Tank is the place for anything metal. We’ve been here for a long time, right in the thick of the market. Being on the ground floor makes it easier when we have to move things in and out. The shop is full of steel products, and it can get a bit dusty with all the traffic outside. We don't have a website or a marketing department. We just open the shutters in the morning and get to work. Most of our customers are people who have been buying from us for years. We know the steel business well because it’s what we’ve always done. The street is narrow and always crowded with handcarts and lorries. It's a loud, busy place, but that’s just the nature of the area. We spend our time checking inventory and writing out bills. It’s a very manual process most days. We don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to keep things running. The walls are lined with samples and old ledgers. It feels like a real, working shop because that’s exactly what it is. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just sell steel and try to keep the business going steadily, day by day, without any unnecessary complications or drama.
