Miller Ganj is always a busy place. Our shop, Prithvi Steel & Engineering Co, is right on the ground floor at 66 C.P.Tank. It's a bit cramped with all the steel pieces and tools lying around, but we know where everything is. The floor gets dusty from all the metalwork, and there's usually a bit of grease on the door handles. We spend most of our time measuring things out and talking to people who walk in from the street needing specific parts. It’s not a quiet job. You hear the clanking of metal all day long. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the front entrance when it's really pouring, but we just put some sacks down. Being on the ground floor is good because we don't have to carry heavy steel up any stairs. C.P. Tank is a landmark everyone around here knows. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the way we work hasn't changed much. We just show up, open the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the stock lists. If someone needs a certain size of rod or a specific engineering component, we go find it in the back. It’s just a regular local business trying to get the orders right and keep things moving along in this busy part of town.
