Prerna Agencies is located right at 89 Bombay Timber Mkt. on Reay Road. It is a very old part of the city and this market has a whole lot of history behind it. You can usually smell the old wood and the salty air coming from the docks nearby when you walk into the area. We deal with timber and various wood-related supplies every single day. It is a rough and ready kind of place to work. Our office is small and sort of tucked away among stacks of wood that seem to reach all the way to the ceiling. We do not have air conditioning that works all the time, so it gets pretty warm in the afternoons during the summer. Most of our work involves talking to contractors or furniture makers who are looking for specific types of wood for their own projects. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the planks and making sure the counts are correct before anything leaves the yard. It is a lot of physical checking and old-fashioned pen-and-paper work. We are not into the whole digital transformation thing as much as some other businesses; we much prefer seeing the wood in person. The market is a tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone else. We have had our spot here for years and we do not really plan on moving anywhere else. It is a simple way to spend the day.
