Pratik Steel

Pratik Steel is located at 59/61 Bhandari Street. This area is known for being a hub of trade and metalwork, so we fit right in. The street is almost always blocked with handcarts and trucks trying to navigate the narrow space. Our shop is mostly filled with stacks of steel sheets and rods. It’s a very practical environment. There’s no air conditioning or fancy décor, just the raw material and the tools we use to measure and move it. We deal with a lot of different people, from contractors to small workshop owners who need a few pieces of steel for a job. The work is physically demanding and we’re usually covered in a bit of grease or metal dust by the end of the day. Bhandari Street has a specific smell of metal and old buildings that you get used to after a while. We’ve been operating from this same address for years, and not much has changed in terms of how we do things. We keep a record of what comes in and what goes out, and try to make sure we have what people are looking for. It’s a lot of lifting and talking over the noise of the street outside. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure the orders are right. It’s an honest way to make a living in a very busy part of the city.
