Our office is right above the Bata showroom on Carnac Road, which is pretty easy to find if you know Crawford Market. Finding the exact spot at 149-B can be a bit of a challenge sometimes because the area is always so packed with people and vendors moving goods. Pratap Kashalkar & Associates has been in this particular building for a long time. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep, so you have to be careful coming up. Inside, it is just a regular office with desks piled high with papers and old files. We don’t have much room for anything extra. The windows look right out over the market, so we hear the shouting and the horns all day long. We’ve grown used to the noise by now, and it just feels like background sounds. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a rattling noise, but we just ignore it and keep working. Thakurdwar is a busy part of the city, and being here means we are close to everything, even if the traffic on Carnac Road is a nightmare most of the time. We don't have fancy furniture or a modern look. It is just a place where we sit down, have some tea, and get through the day's tasks. There are stacks of folders everywhere, and we are always looking for a bit more shelf space. It is a simple, local office where we just do our daily work and handle the paperwork.
