Our place is over in the 8-A, Parvati Industrial Estate, Sun Mill Compound, Lower Parel, which has changed so much lately. Even with the new buildings around, this estate still feels like the old industrial heart. It’s a bit of a maze back here. We spend our days working on metal labels. It is exactly what it sounds like. There’s a lot of noise from the machines and that smell of metal that never really leaves your clothes. We aren't a big operation with some fancy glass office. Our work is more about the benches and the materials we have stacked up against the walls. Getting in and out of the compound can be a bit of a headache with the trucks, but that’s just life in this part of Mumbai. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t really notice the grit anymore. Usually, one of us is checking the specs while the other handles the press. It’s honest work. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel heavy. We just open the doors and keep going. Most of our neighbors are doing similar industrial stuff, so there's a shared sense of just getting the job done. It’s not a place for visitors to come and see anything pretty. It’s just where we make things, day in and day out, tucked away in this little corner of the estate. It's nothing fancy, just a workshop where we spend our time working hard.
