Prabhudas & Co.

New Hanuman Lane is always crowded, and Princess Street has its own kind of energy that never really stops. We are located at number 27 in Anand Bhuvan. It is an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up again. At Prabhudas & Co., we spend most of our mornings just getting the shutters up and organizing the desks. It is not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls. We have wooden shelves filled with files and boxes that have been there for a while. The noise from the handcarts outside comes right through the windows, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We drink a lot of tea here, usually from the stall just around the corner where they know how much sugar we like. Most of our day is spent checking lists and talking to people who drop by. It is a simple way of working. We do not have big meetings or long presentations. We just focus on the tasks at hand and make sure the paperwork is sorted before we head home. Sometimes the Mumbai humidity makes everything feel a bit slow, but we keep at it. We have known the other shop owners on this street for a long time, so it feels like a small community in the middle of a big city. It is just a regular place where we do our bit every day.
