Prabhu Matels

We are located on the ground floor over at Sinhgad Road, specifically Room No 1 at 132D. Prabhu Matels has been here for a bit, dealing with all sorts of metal items and bits and pieces. Kalbadevi is always crowded, so getting stuff in and out of the shop can be a bit of a headache sometimes with the narrow lanes. The space is filled with stacks of different materials, and it smells like iron and dust most of the time. We don't really have a big showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just shelves and stacks of metal where we know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a big mess to someone else. People come in looking for specific parts for their homes or small projects they are working on in their garages. We spend a lot of time measuring things and cutting them down to the right size with the old saw we have in the back. Sometimes we have to tell people to come back the next day because we are still waiting on a delivery from the warehouse. It's just a regular local shop where we work with our hands. My cousin helps me out when things get busy during the afternoon rush. We have lived around this area for a long time, so we know most of the people walking past the shop every morning. It’s practical work. We just show up, open the shutters, and see what the day brings us.
