Popular Steel Centre

Popular Steel Centre is located right in the heart of Chembur. We are at Shop No 5 G, Laxmi Market, Stat, on the 6th Cross. Being in a market means it’s always crowded and loud. There are people shouting, bells ringing, and the constant sound of metal clanging against the ground. Our shop is filled with steel in various forms, and it’s quite heavy stuff to move around. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to be very careful about how we stack everything. It’s a bit of a workout just getting through a normal day here. The floor is concrete and usually has some dust or metal shavings on it. We’ve been in Laxmi Market for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a tight-knit place where everyone looks out for each other. We don't have a website or a big social media presence. People just walk in because they need some steel and they know we’re here. Sometimes we sit outside on a plastic stool when things are quiet, just watching the world go by. It’s a basic business with no frills. We sell steel, we give people their change, and that’s about it. We just try to be fair and keep the shop running as best we can. The noise from the Stat area can be a lot, but you eventually get used to it.
