Pooja Steel & Alloys

Our shop is at 11 C.P. Tank, inside the Pathak Building on Ardeshir Dady Cross Lane. This is a very old part of the city and the lanes are incredibly narrow. If you are bringing a vehicle here, you are going to have a hard time. We deal with steel and alloys, so the place usually smells like metal and is quite heavy with stock. The Pathak Building has seen better days, but it has a lot of character. We spend our time weighing pieces of metal and cutting things to size. It’s dirty work and our hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or dust. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just a workspace with metal stacked everywhere you look. It gets very loud when we are moving the heavier pieces around. The neighbors are all doing similar industrial work, so there is a lot of banging and clanging all day long. We have been here for years and we know the shortcuts through the cross lanes. Sometimes it feels like there is no room to breathe with all the inventory, but we manage. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just sell steel and try to make sure we don't run out of what people need. It’s a lot of physical work and the heat in the summer makes it even tougher, but we are used to the grind by now.
