Polychem International

Our place, Polychem International, is situated on P D Mello Road over in the Carnec Bunder area of Masjid East. We are at number 504. Being so close to the docks means there is always a lot of activity with heavy trucks and containers moving around outside. The area is quite industrial and can be very dusty, especially when the wind blows off the water. We deal with chemicals, so the office and the storage area have a very specific smell that you get used to after a few days. It’s not a glamorous job. Most of our time is spent checking labels and making sure the drums are stored correctly. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s been our home for a long time. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy website. We just talk to our regular clients and handle the orders as they come in. P D Mello Road is a tough place to navigate sometimes because of the traffic jams, but it’s where all the trade happens. We eat our lunch at our desks most days because there is always some paperwork to finish or a delivery to coordinate. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just keeping the business going one day at a time in Masjid East. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know, and the location works for the kind of stuff we handle on a daily basis.
