Podar International School

Podar International School sits at Plot No-85 in Chamarbaug, right in the middle of Parel. If you know the Post Office Lane near Dr. Ambedkar Road, you know it’s a very crowded part of the city. Everything is packed together here. The school building is tucked into a lane, so it’s a bit of a squeeze for the buses to get in and out every day. We don’t have a massive sprawling campus because, well, it’s Parel, and space is hard to find. We make the most of what we have. The hallways are narrow but we keep them clean. You can hear the sounds of the city all day long—the trains, the traffic, and the people walking by. It’s a lively atmosphere to work in. Our classrooms are cozy and every corner is filled with student work or books. The teachers often have to talk a bit louder to be heard over the street noise. We don’t have a big field for sports, so the kids use the indoor hall or the local grounds nearby. It’s a practical setup for a city school. Most of us take the train to get here, so we’re always keeping an eye on the clock. It’s a busy, cramped, and fast-paced place, but it has its own rhythm that we’ve all grown to love. We just get on with the teaching and the learning in the middle of all the Mumbai chaos.
