Our office is at number 6, Hemkunj, on Zaver Road in Mulund. It’s a part of Mumbai that feels a bit more relaxed than the city center, though Zaver Road still gets its fair share of traffic. We have been working out of this space for a good while. The building is a typical residential-commercial mix, so you hear the sounds of families nearby along with the sounds of business. We handle import and export tasks, which means we are often waiting on emails from people in different time zones. Our office is basically just one large room with desks pushed against the walls to make space in the middle. We have a lot of calendars pinned up to keep track of dates. There is no big logo on the wall or anything fancy. We just have our company name on a small plastic board by the door. On rainy days, the smell of damp earth comes in through the balcony. We usually have a lot of files stacked up on the floor because the cupboards are already full. It’s a bit cluttered, but we manage just fine. We don't use any corporate jargon or talk about big strategies. We just look at what needs to be shipped today and we try to get it done before the sun goes down. It's a regular routine and it keeps us occupied throughout the week.
