Petrochemicals

We operate our petrochemical business right here in Mumbai. It’s a big city with a lot going on, and we’re just one small part of the industrial landscape. Our day-to-day involves a lot of coordinating with suppliers and looking over technical data sheets. We don't have a giant refinery or anything like that in the city center; it's mostly an office where the logistics and sales side of things get handled. The air in the office usually smells a bit like old paper and coffee. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sending emails back and forth to make sure the shipments are moving the way they should. Mumbai traffic means that some of our staff are always running a bit late, but we make up for it by staying late when the work piles up. We deal with various chemicals and materials that go into making all sorts of everyday products. It’s not the kind of thing most people think about, but it’s important work that keeps other industries running. Our furniture is a bit dated and the files are stacked high on every available surface. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek office design. We just want to make sure the orders are accurate and the clients get what they need. It’s a busy, sometimes messy business, but we’ve been doing it in this city for a long time now. We just focus on the numbers and the logistics.
