Pearl Crockery

If you walk down Mohammedali Road, you'll find us at 99/A. It’s a busy stretch of road and there is always something going on outside. Pearl Crockery is mostly just a place filled with plates, bowls, and glass things. We try to keep things organized, but in a small shop like this, it’s a constant struggle. We’ve got stacks of ceramic items that reach pretty high, and you have to be careful not to knock anything over with your bag. The lighting is a bit yellow and the fan hums loudly whenever it’s turned on. We don't have any big signs or posters. People usually find us because they were already in the neighborhood looking for household goods. Some days are slow and we just sit by the door watching the cars go by, and other days it’s so crowded we can barely move. We handle a lot of bubble wrap and newspaper for packing things up so they don’t break on the way home. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we do. The pavement outside is always cracked and people are constantly rushing past to get somewhere else. We’ve been here for years and the shop has become a part of the daily scenery on this road. It’s just a plain, honest business with no frills, just lots of dishes that need to be sold to someone.
