Pavan Metal Corporation

We've been at No. 30-32 on Thakudwar Road for a long time now. It’s a busy spot near the G. P. O. O-2 area, and mostly we just deal with whatever metal needs come through the door. Pavan Metal Corporation is basically just a few of us here. The shop isn't fancy at all. There are stacks of things everywhere, and it gets dusty, but that’s just how it is when you’re handling this kind of inventory every day. Sometimes people call us or just walk in because they're looking for something specific for a job. We try to keep track of what's in the back, though it takes a minute to find things occasionally. The traffic on Thakudwar Road can be a real headache, especially in the afternoons when the deliveries are trying to get in and out. We've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some shops have gone, new ones have opened, but we're still here doing the same thing. It’s a lot of physical work, loading and unloading, checking the weights, and making sure the paperwork is mostly right. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk and some old chairs where we sit when things get quiet. If you come by, you’ll probably see us sorting through stuff or talking to the driver about where to park his truck. It’s just regular work for us. Nothing too complicated, just metal and keeping the shop running.
