If you walk down 8 Khetwadi Lane, you’ll find us at Shop Number 4 inside the Mali Bhawan building. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in this part of the city. We’ve got metal stacked up against the walls and sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough room to turn around. The street outside is always full of people and handcarts, so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a headache most days. We spend our mornings sorting through whatever metal arrived and checking the lists. It gets quite loud with all the traffic and the noise from the other small shops around us. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the neighborhood or guys who’ve been buying from us for a long time. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the shop and the phone. Mali Bhawan is an old building and it has its own quirks, like the lights flickering or the door sticking when it’s humid. We usually have the radio on in the background to pass the time while we work. The space is small but we know exactly where everything is kept. If someone needs a specific bit of metal, we can usually find it under a pile somewhere. It’s honest work and we stay busy from morning until we pull the shutters down in the evening. There isn't much more to it besides that.
