Palak Steel Works

Palak Steel Works is based out of Krishna Nivas, right on the ground floor on Laxmi Narayan Lane. Being in Kandivali West means there is always a lot of foot traffic and people moving about. Our shop is where we handle all kinds of steel tasks, mostly making things like railings or safety doors for the apartments nearby. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we put the long rods of steel so nobody trips when they walk in. The noise of the saw cutting through metal is a constant thing throughout the day. We aren't a big factory, just a local spot where we do things by hand with the help of a few machines. Most of the day is spent measuring, cutting, and then welding everything together. Sometimes people stop by just to ask how much it would cost to fix a gate or to get a new stand made for their kitchen. We keep the doors open to let the air in because it gets hot with the welding sparks flying around. The walls are a bit stained from the smoke, and the floor is rough, but it works for what we need. It’s just us here working through the jobs we get, making sure things are sturdy and do what they are supposed to do for the folks in the lane. We’ve been in this spot for a while and most neighbors know the sound of our workshop by now.
