Optimum Steel

Optimum Steel is based in Mittal Tower, right in Nariman Point. Our office is 111-B. Being at 210 Nariman Point means we are right in the heart of the business district, so it can be quite hectic. You see a lot of people in suits running around, but we are a bit more low-key in our office. We deal with steel trading and supply. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and keeping track of market prices. The view from the tower is okay, but we spend most of our time looking at screens anyway. We aren't a giant corporation, even though the address might make it sound like that. We are a small group of people who have been in the steel game for a long time. We know who to call when someone needs a specific type of beam or plate. Sometimes the elevators in Mittal Tower take forever, so we’ve learned to be patient. Our office is functional, nothing too stylish. We have stacks of catalogues and old notebooks everywhere. We don't really do the whole corporate culture thing. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the transport is lined up. It’s a lot of small details that have to be managed every day. We just take it one day at a time and try to stay organized in the middle of all the Nariman Point chaos. It is a lot of work but we have gotten used to the pace.
