Being in Link Palace over in Malad West means we are right in the middle of a lot of noise and movement. Our spot at A-2/ 519 is tucked in where we see the same faces every day. It's not a huge place, just a regular shop where we keep things on the shelves and hope they don't get too dusty. We spend a lot of time rearranging things just to make room. Malad can get very hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan running and wait for the evening crowd to show up. It's mostly locals from the nearby buildings who stop by on their way home. We don't really do much fancy talk here. If someone asks for something, we find it for them. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the Link Road, which can be a real headache. We’ve had days where the rain comes down so hard we have to move everything back from the door. Running a shop like this takes up all your time. You start early and you leave late, usually after most of the other shops have already shut their shutters. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure everything stays in its place. It’s practical work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, with new shops opening and closing, but we’re still here in our little corner.
