Omnitech Transformers

Omnitech Transformers is based in the Universal Industrial Estate on I B Patel Road in Goregaon East. We are at unit number 39. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a sound of machines running somewhere nearby. Our workshop is full of heavy coils, metal casings, and the smell of oil. It’s a place where your hands stay dirty most of the day. Winding wires and checking connections on the transformers we build takes a lot of hours. It’s slow, careful work that you can't really rush. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains that have been there longer than I have. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a desk in the corner with a calendar and a bunch of pens that don't always work. We wear old clothes because of the grease and the metal shavings. The light comes in through these high windows that are a bit grimy. It’s a small team of us here. We know each other's habits and how we like our tea. Most of the people who come by are truck drivers picking up orders or suppliers dropping off raw materials. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here in the estate. We just focus on making sure the units are built right and ready to go on time. That's the main thing we do here.
