Om Computers

We are based on the first floor of Anni Villa which sits right on V P Road in Vile Parle West. It is a decent spot and not too far from the station so people can drop off their computers on their way home from work. We have seen all kinds of strange computer problems over the years. Laptops with cracked screens are probably the most common thing we deal with lately. People drop them or accidentally step on them and then they end up on our repair table. The shop is usually a bit messy because we have parts and tools scattered everywhere. It is hard to keep it perfectly organized when you are in the middle of three different repairs at once. We do not really do the whole corporate image thing here. It is just a few of us who know our way around a motherboard. The Mumbai humidity makes everything a bit sticky including the keyboards we have to clean out. We spend a lot of time waiting for software to install or for older systems to reboot. While that happens we usually chat about what is going on in the neighborhood. Vile Parle is a good place to be even if the traffic on V P Road gets a bit much during the rush hour. We just try to be helpful when someone’s computer decides to quit right before a big deadline. There is no real magic to it.
