Down in the Fort area, at 5th Cross, you’ll find Ocean Impex at number 272. It is an old part of the city, and the buildings have that heavy, solid feel to them. We are tucked away in one of those structures. Working at 272 means navigating some narrow passages and dealing with the unique layout of the Fort district. Ocean Impex isn't a large company with hundreds of employees. We are just a small team working out of a few rooms. The 5th Cross is a bit quieter than the main roads, which we appreciate. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or tracking shipments. The walls at our place are thick, and it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We have a couple of old wooden desks and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. It is a functional space, nothing more and nothing less. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small plaque near the entrance. Most of the people who come here already know us. We don't spend time on fancy marketing; we just focus on the imports and exports that come through our hands. The neighborhood has a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk through the doors. We like the routine of coming to 5th Cross every morning. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in a historic part of town. We plan to stay at 272 for as long as we can.
