We’ve been working out of this spot on Baburao Bobade Marg for quite a while now. Most people know us because we’re right opposite the Water Masjid. It’s a busy area in Rajgopal Nagar, specifically the 3rd Phase near 9th Main. We handle a lot of steel here. Every morning starts with checking the stock and seeing what came in on the trucks overnight. Some days are just constant loading and unloading. We deal with all sorts of people, from local contractors to folks just looking for a bit of metal for a small fix at home. It gets dusty and loud, but that’s just how the steel business is. We keep our inventory stacked as neatly as we can in the space we have. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it tricky for the big lorries to turn in, but we manage. Most of our neighbors are used to the noise by now. We don't really do much fancy stuff, just sell the material and try to get the orders right. If you’ve walked past the masjid, you’ve probably seen our gate open. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s steady work and keeps us busy from dawn till late evening. We know the regulars by name and they know where to find us if they need something specific for their building projects. It’s just us here, making sure the steel goes out to whoever needs it today. We also spend some time doing the accounting in a small corner desk by the door.
