Nimble Thimble

Up here on Malabar Hill, you can find us at 62 Nymph on Narayan Dhabolkar Road. Nimble Thimble has been tucked away in this spot for some time now. It’s a quiet part of the city, which is nice for the kind of work we do. We mostly deal with needlework and small repairs that people need. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many threads and needles and bits of cloth everywhere. We try to keep it organized, but it’s a constant battle. People from around Malabar Hill know they can bring their things to us. We don’t have a big storefront with lights. It’s more of a personal workshop. We sit by the window to get the best light for the fine work. Narayan Dhabolkar Road is a pleasant place to walk. We see the same faces often. We don't really use social media or anything to get customers. Usually, someone tells a friend about us and that’s how they find the 62 Nymph building. We just do our best with every stitch. Sometimes my eyes get tired by the end of the day, but that’s part of the job. It’s a quiet life here at Nimble Thimble. We just keep our heads down and keep working. It feels good to finish a piece and see it look right again. We don't need much more than our tools and some good light.
