New Poornima Juice Centre

Our shop is right by Citywalk Shoes in Colaba, at Po 42. It’s a busy area with lots of people walking around all the time looking at the storefronts. We spend most of our day cutting up fruit and running the blenders. It’s loud inside sometimes because of the machines, but that is just how a juice place is. We have been here for a good while now. The counter gets sticky no matter how many times we wipe it down during the shift. We get a mix of tourists who look lost and locals who have lived in Colaba their whole lives. Most of them want something cold because the sun really hits this part of the street in the afternoon. We don't have much space for people to hang around, so they usually just stand on the sidewalk or walk while they drink. It’s a simple setup. We keep the crates of fruit stacked in the back and bring them out as we need them. Sometimes the oranges are better than other days, that is just how nature works. We don’t try to make it look like a fancy cafe. It’s just a juice center where you can get a quick drink. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint but nobody seems to mind much. We just focus on keeping the fruit cold and the glasses clean for the next person who comes in off the street.
