New Cafe Gulshan

New Cafe Gulshan is located on S V Road. It is one of those old places that has been around while the city changed around it. S V Road is always full of dust and noise from the construction and the traffic. Inside the cafe, it feels a bit slower. We have these old wooden chairs and marble top tables. They are chipped in some places. We don't have fancy coffee machines. We just make tea in big pots and serve it in glass tumblers. The walls have some old pictures and a calendar that is usually a few days behind. We get a lot of older men who come in to read the newspaper and sit for an hour. They don't order much, maybe just a tea and some bun maska. The younger crowd doesn't come here as much because we don't have internet or modern things. The kitchen is in the back and it’s quite dark. We make some simple snacks like samosas and omelettes. I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. The ceiling fans make a clicking sound that you stop noticing after a while. It is a quiet kind of business. We don't do any advertising. People just know we are here on the corner of S V Road. It’s a bit worn out but it's where we spend our days. We just keep the doors open.
