Navbharat Shipping (India) Ltd. is located in the Onlooker Building, specifically on the 6th floor in units 39 B and C. Being in Fort, specifically on Sir P.M. Road, means we are right in the middle of everything. The shipping business involves a lot of documents, customs talk, and tracking vessels. Our office is usually filled with stacks of paper and the sound of phones ringing. We’ve been here for a long time. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but the 6th floor is where we do all the coordinating. We deal with cargo coming through the ports. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with different agents and making sure the containers are where they need to be. The staff here has been around for years, so we know the routines pretty well. It’s not a quiet office, especially when there are deadlines for a ship leaving. We drink a lot of tea and just get through the lists. The building itself is one of those older ones in Fort that has a lot of character. We don't spend much time worrying about the decor, we just focus on the shipping schedules. It’s regular work, sometimes stressful when there are delays at the port, but we manage. That is just how it goes in this line of work. We handle the bookings and the paperwork, and try to make sense of the ocean schedules every day.
