Namratha Steel

You can find Namratha Steel on Durgadevi Lane in Mumbai. We are on the first floor of building number 26, in Office Number 5. The Durgadevi Temple is very close by, and you can often hear the bells ringing during the morning and evening prayers. It is a busy little lane with a lot of shops selling similar metal items. We deal in steel, mostly smaller orders for local contractors or people doing minor home repairs. Our office is small and usually smells a bit like metal and old paper files. We have a few samples of different steel types lying around on the floor or propped against the desk. It is not the most organized place, but it works for what we need. I usually sit near the window so I can see who is coming up the stairs. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one painted on the door. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they were visiting the temple and saw our name. We try to be helpful when someone asks a question about what kind of steel they should use for a project. It is just me and one other guy working here most days. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the delivery men who bring our stock. It is a simple way to spend the day. (245 words)
