N M Metal Industries

We are based in the Mumba Devi Compound in Kalbadevi, which is one of the busiest parts of the city. If you’ve ever been here, you know how narrow the lanes are and how much is going on at once. Our shop, N M Metal Industries, is at 99G right in the thick of it. We have stacks of metal sheets and rods piled up high against the walls. The building itself is quite old, and the stairs are narrow and a bit steep. There is a constant noise from the street outside—horns, people shouting, and the sound of carts being pushed along. Inside, we just try to stay organized, though it’s a bit of a struggle with so much material in a small space. We don’t have any polished corporate brochures or anything like that. We just talk to the people who walk in and help them find what they need. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, and we like it that way. Most of the day is spent checking the stock and talking to suppliers. It’s a bit of a squeeze, and it gets very humid in the summer, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We are just a local metal business trying to do our job in the heart of Kalbadevi. The people around here are good, and there is always plenty to do to keep us on our toes. It is our neighborhood.
