Multiple Steels

Our place is located at 18-A, Sindhi Lane, right on Nanubhai Desai Road. If you know this area, you know it’s always packed with movement and people. Multiple Steels is basically what it sounds like. We deal with steel, mostly different types and sizes that people need for building or various repairs. The shop is tucked into the lane, and it’s usually full of metal pieces and the sound of things being moved around. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of measuring and making sure the orders are right. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, and the space gets tight when a big delivery arrives. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us handling the day-to-day stuff. Most of our time is spent talking to regular customers who come by because they know we’re here. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times we’re just sitting around waiting for the next truck to pull up. We try to be straightforward with people about what we have in stock. If we don’t have a certain type of steel, we just say so. It’s a small operation but we keep the wheels turning. Working on Nanubhai Desai Road means you’re always in the thick of things, which is just how we like it.
