If you’re ever walking down Mathuradas Road in Kandivli West, you might have passed by our place. We are located in Dev Prayag, specifically in A 101. It’s a ground floor or first floor spot depending on how you look at the stairs. This is another one of the offices for the Multi Commodity Exchange of India. We spend most of our time looking at commodity prices and talking to people on the phone. The office is tucked into a busy part of Mumbai, so there’s always noise from the street outside. It’s part of the charm, I guess. We aren’t really about the flashy stuff you see in movies about finance. It’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of tea and coffee. We try to keep things running smooth for everyone involved in the exchange. The building itself is older but it’s sturdy and everyone around knows where Dev Prayag is. Working in Kandivli has its own rhythm. The morning rush is always something to deal with. Inside, we just focus on the data coming in. We don’t have a big marketing department here or anything. It’s just staff members doing the actual work. We keep our files in order and try to answer questions as they come. It’s a practical space for a practical job. We’ve been in this Mumbai neighborhood for quite some time now and we’re used to the local pace. There is always someone here checking the latest rates and making sure our logs are updated. It’s honest, steady work that doesn't need much shouting about.
