Mohit Tubes

Mohit Tubes is situated on Ahmedabad Street down at Carnac Bunder. It is an old part of the city. It feels like it sometimes. We deal with all kinds of metal tubes and pipes for building and industrial use. The air here smells a bit like the sea and rusty iron because we are so close to the docks. It is a heavy, dirty job. Our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We don't have a big fancy office with computers and leather chairs. We have a small desk with a lot of papers and our inventory lists. The street outside is constantly blocked by big trucks loading and unloading. We have to shout sometimes to be heard over the noise of the traffic and the metal clanging. It’s a very practical business. We’ve been around Carnac Bunder for a long time. We have watched the buildings change around us while we just keep selling our tubes. When it rains, we have to move fast. We get the stock under the tarps so it doesn't get ruined. It is a lot of physical work, lifting and moving heavy steel. We know the other merchants on Ahmedabad Street. We often share tea in the afternoons. It’s a simple life, really. We just focus on getting the right sizes to the customers who need them for their construction jobs. No fuss, just a lot of iron.
