Mocha Coffee And Conversations

Our place is inside Nagin Mahal, which is at No. 82 on Veer Nariman Road. Being right near Church Gate, we get a lot of foot traffic. The building itself is quite old and has that solid, heavy feel to it. We’ve kept the inside pretty simple. We have some tables and chairs that are comfortable but definitely not new. The name "Conversations" is there because that’s really what happens here. People come in from the heat and the noise of the street and they just sit and talk. It’s not a place where anyone is going to rush you out. We spend our time behind the counter or moving between the tables. We see all kinds of people, from students with their books to older folks who have lived in the area for decades. It can get quite loud when it’s full, but it’s a good kind of noise. It feels like the room is full of life. We don’t have a fancy uniforms or a complicated menu. We just make the coffee and let people enjoy their time. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy and the light through the windows is very bright in the afternoon. We just pull the curtains a bit. It’s a real place for real people. We aren't trying to impress anyone with modern designs. We just like the way the space feels and we hope others do too.
