Mocha Bar is a small spot located at Powai 135. We’ve been here for a while, and it’s become a bit of a second home for us. The place has a bit of an lived-in feel, with some scuffs on the walls and chairs that have been used a lot. We spend our days grinding coffee beans and steaming milk. The sound of the espresso machine is the background noise to everything we do. We get all kinds of people in Powai 135, from students with their books to people just looking for a place to sit for a bit. We don't have a corporate manual for how to act. We just talk to people like normal and make their drinks. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of bean and have to suggest something else. The lighting is a bit dim, but it makes the place feel more relaxed. We don't do much in the way of promotion. People just find us or hear about us from their friends. We have a small kitchen area where we make some snacks, and it can get a bit cramped when two of us are working back there. We try to keep everything clean, but it's a constant task with the coffee grounds getting everywhere. It’s just a regular bar where we work hard and hope people enjoy their time. We just keep the beans grinding.
