We've been here at Room Number 5 for a good while now. Old Anjirwadi isn't the quietest place in Mumbai, but it’s where we get things done. Being in the Chapsi Bhimji Chawl means there’s always something going on right outside the door. Dr. Mascarenhas Road gets pretty busy with traffic and people walking to the station at Byculla. It’s a bit cramped inside our space, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need. Most mornings start with clearing the dust that comes in from the street and getting the fans going before it gets too hot. People know us around here as Mmm, even if the name is short and a bit funny to say. We don’t really bother with big signs or fancy lights. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but work keeps us busy enough that we don't think about it much. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window when the monsoon gets heavy. We just put a bucket down and keep moving. It's a local spot, nothing like those big offices you see in the newer parts of town. We like it this way because everything is familiar. You can hear the neighbors talking and the tea stall guy calling out. It’s just how things are for us here in Mazgaon. We spend our days mostly focused on the tasks at hand and trying to stay cool when the humidity hits. It isn't much, but it's ours.
