Metal Tubes (India)

You can find us at Shop No. 7 in the Lehri Building. It is right on 5th Khetwadi Lane, which comes off SVP Road. We are quite close to Alankar Cinema, so that’s usually the landmark people use to find us. It’s a very tight area. The lanes around here are narrow and usually filled with carts and people moving stuff. Our shop, Metal Tubes (India), is number 274/9. It is a small space, but we pack a lot into it. There are tubes of all different sizes leaning against the walls. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if we get a big delivery in. The building itself, Lehri Bldg, is one of those older structures you see all over this part of the city. We have been in this spot for years. It gets very loud during the day with all the traffic on SVP Road and the general noise of the market. There is no air conditioning in the shop, just a few ceiling fans that we keep running all day long. It can get pretty sweaty in the summer months. Most of our neighbors are also in the metal trade, so we all know each other. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy place to work, but it is where everything happens. We just open up the shutters every morning and start the day. Sometimes we have tea from the guy outside. We stay until the job is done.
