Being over here in Mittal Tower at Nariman Point means we are right in the heart of the old business district. Our office on the third floor of the B-Wing is where we handle the shipping side of things. It’s an older building, and you can definitely feel the history of Mumbai's trade when you walk through the lobby. We spend our days dealing with various shipping lines and the logistics that come with it. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls, mostly. Looking out the windows, you get a sense of how busy this part of town used to be and still is in a way. We have a regular team of people who have been with us for a long time, just doing the daily work of keeping things moving. The desks are usually piled high with files and shipping logs. It’s not one of those modern, sleek offices you see nowadays, but it works for us. We mostly focus on our tasks and try to get home before the local trains get too crowded, though that’s almost impossible. Lunch is usually a quick affair from the stalls downstairs where everyone else from the nearby towers goes. Shipping is a slow business sometimes, waiting for vessels and ports, so we just take it as it comes. It's just a regular office life here by the sea.
