Maurya Dairy & Cattle Farm

Maurya Dairy & Cattle Farm is located in Juhu at house number 4 455. It is a bit of a surprise for people to find a cattle farm in this part of the city but we have been here for generations. My grandfather was the one who first brought cows to this spot and we have just kept the tradition going. Our day starts well before sunrise because the cows need to be fed and the milking has to be done early. It is a lot of physical labor every single day of the week. We have to clean the stalls and make sure the animals are well taken care of. We deliver the fresh milk to many of the houses nearby and people seem to like that it comes from right down the street. The yard is usually quite muddy especially during the monsoon and there is always a lot of work to do with moving the feed around. We don't have a website or any fancy business cards. People just know our gate and they come by if they need extra milk. The city has built up all around us with big houses and tall buildings but our small farm remains. It is getting harder to find good feed close by so we have it brought in from further out. We just focus on our animals and getting the milk out to the neighbors every morning.
