You can find Master Cutting Tools in Room No. 2 and 3 of the Balabhat Chawl. We’re located in Tele Galli, right behind the Shiv Sena Shaka in Andheri East. Working out of a chawl means space is tight, and we have to be very organized with where we put our grinders and lathes. It’s a busy lane with people constantly moving back and forth, so there is always some noise coming from the street. Inside, it’s the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of cutting oil. We sharpen and make tools for local workshops and factories. It’s a greasy job, and we usually end the day with black marks on our clothes. We don't have a big sign or anything fancy outside. Most people just know the door. We’ve been in this spot for years, and we know all the other shop owners in the lane. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when things are slow and watch the traffic go by. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we use some extra lamps over the workbenches to see the fine edges of the blades. We don't do much in the way of sales talk. If a tool is blunt, we fix it. If someone needs a specific bit, we see if we can get it. It’s a small operation, but we keep the machines running and the customers coming back when their tools wear down. It's just simple shop work.
