Down in Chembur Janta Nagar, the air always feels a bit heavy with the smell of hot metal. That’s where Star Forging is located. It’s a noisy place, and there’s no way around that. If you come by, you’ll hear the sound of hammers and machinery pretty much all day long. We’ve been working in this spot for a while, and the walls show it—they’re covered in soot and age. It’s not a place for clean clothes. We spend our shifts moving heavy parts and making sure the furnaces are at the right temperature. It’s physical work that leaves you tired at the end of the day. The neighbors in Janta Nagar are used to us by now. We have a small crew, mostly guys who have been doing this for years and know the machines by the sound they make. Sometimes a machine breaks down, and we have to spend half the day fixing it ourselves because that’s just how it goes. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. We just have our hands and the metal we work with. The office is just a corner with a desk and a calendar that’s usually a month behind. We don't worry about the small stuff; we just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the forged pieces are solid. It’s honest, loud work, and we just keep doing it day after day without much fuss or complaint.
