Maruti Metal

Maruti Metal is located right in the Kalbadevi Gidc Estate. We’re over in the Ramangamdi area, quite close to Kika Street. It’s an industrial spot, so there’s always the sound of trucks and metal clanking nearby. The GIDC estate is usually busy from early morning. We spend most of our time inside the unit, checking on stock or talking to the guys who drop things off. It isn't the cleanest place, but that’s metal work for you. There’s always a bit of grease or iron dust around. We’ve got a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger. Most of our day is spent moving stuff around or making sure the inventory matches what we have on paper. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. The tea man comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. Kika Street is usually jammed with traffic, so we try to get our loading done early. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big corporate offices in the city center. We don't use fancy software, just basic stuff that works for us. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. It’s just how we operate here, nothing more and nothing less. We keep the doors open and just get on with the daily tasks. It’s been this way for years and we don't expect it to change much.
