Our shop is number 15, located inside the J M Compound at 111/113 Kalbadevi. If you have ever been to Kalbadevi, you know how the lanes are narrow and packed with all sorts of metal and hardware businesses. We have been part of this compound for a long time, dealing with all kinds of metal supplies day in and day out. The air in here always has that faint metallic smell, and the sound of heavy sheets being moved around is just part of the background. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with all the stock we keep, but we know exactly where everything is piled. We do not have a fancy showroom, just a sturdy counter and some ledgers where we write down the daily sales. Most of our customers are regulars who have been buying from us for years. They come in, we have a bit of a talk about the current rates, and we get their orders loaded up. The heat in the compound can be a bit much during May, but we just keep the doors open and get on with the work. It is a grit-and-grind kind of place, far away from the shiny offices you see in the newer parts of the city. We are just here doing our thing in the heart of the old market.
