Our office is located at B-601 in Jalvayu Vihar, which is over in Sector-A. If you know Powai, you know Ridge Road near Hiranandani Gardens. It is a nice enough spot, though the traffic can be a real headache some afternoons. Manisha Malhi Architect & Interior Designers is really just us working out of this space. We do a mix of things, from the big structural architecture plans to the smaller details of interior design. It isn’t like those polished firms you see in magazines. We have piles of blueprints and fabric swatches everywhere. Sometimes the coffee machine is the most important thing in the room. We spend a lot of time on the phone with contractors or visiting sites to make sure things are actually happening as they should. Living and working around Powai means we see a lot of different types of apartments and offices. We just try to make sense of the space people give us. It is a lot of measuring and re-measuring. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. People usually find us because they live nearby or someone told them about a job we did. Architecture is a long process, and it takes a lot of sitting and drawing. We don't mind it. It's just what we do every day here at Jalvayu Vihar. It’s a quiet place to work most of the time, provided the neighbors aren't renovating.
