We are located deep in Dharavi, specifically in Kamla Nagar. If you look for Room No. 561 1/3, you’ll find us right there in Sangam Gali. It’s a narrow lane, like most places around here, and it’s always full of activity. We’re right opposite Manoj Kumar Restaurant, which is a good landmark because everyone knows where that is. The smell of food from the restaurant often drifts over while we are working on our bags at Maneri Bags. It’s a small room, and space is always tight with all the materials we have lying around. We’ve got sewing machines and stacks of fabric and leather everywhere you look. It’s not a fancy showroom, just a place where the work happens every day. The noise of the street is constant—kids playing, people shouting, and the hum of other small workshops nearby. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that; we just focus on finishing the bags we have to get done. Sometimes we sit outside on a small stool for a break when the room gets too hot. Dealing with the heat in Dharavi is just part of the job. People come into the lane for all sorts of things, and we’ve been here long enough that we don’t really notice the chaos anymore. It’s just how life is in this part of Mumbai, busy and loud and always moving.
