Malwa Hardware Traders

Our shop is located at 164 Janjikar Street in the Masjid Bunder area. If you’ve ever been down this street, you know how crowded it gets with trucks and loaders. We sell all kinds of hardware stuff like bolts, hinges, and heavy tools. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling and are stuffed with boxes. Half the time we have to use a ladder to find what a customer is asking for. It’s dusty work and there’s always the sound of metal clanking. We open early in the morning because that's when the contractors and laborers are out looking for supplies. We don't have a computer system to track everything; we mostly just know where things are by memory. It’s a family business and we’ve been here for many years. Sometimes we just sit on the wooden counter and wait for the next person to walk in. We talk to the other shopkeepers on the street about the prices of steel or how the traffic is getting worse. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights. It’s just a warehouse style shop where you get what you need for building things. We keep a ledger for the regular accounts and use a heavy iron key to lock up at night. It’s just how things are done around here. We don't mind if someone only wants a single bolt; we sell that too because we know every little part matters for a project or a small repair at home.
