Makawana Fabrication

We are located at Gala No 35 in Dahisar East. It’s a typical fabrication workshop. You’ll hear the sound of welding and grinding as soon as you get close. We do all sorts of metal assembly and repair work. Usually, there’s a pile of iron bars or frames waiting by the door. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be smart about how we arrange the work. Sometimes we’re working on a gate, other times it’s small parts for a local factory. My hands are usually stained with grease or soot from the torches. We wear our old clothes because they’re going to get ruined anyway. It gets hot inside, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the roof. We take breaks when we can and sit outside for a bit of air. The tools we use are old but they still work fine. We fix them ourselves when they break. There’s no big corporate structure here. It’s just me and a couple of others getting through the orders. We don't promise things we can't do. If a job is too big for our equipment, we just say so. Most of our customers are from the nearby neighborhoods. They come to us because they know we're right here in the gala. It’s a basic life, but making things with your hands feels good at the end of the day. There's always some metal scraps to clean up.
